Good Things Happen to Those Who Wait
Losing weight is hard. Everyone knows it. We think we're doing good but we have hit a plateau and can't seem to keep the ball rolling. This can affect us in many ways. It can affect our mood, we won't want to go out with friends or have any fun, we will just want to sit at home and be frustrated. We might not have the energy to go to the gym. We may think about just shoving a bag of chips or cookies down our throat because, why not we aren't losing any weight. Well these are all negative feelings we need to stop immediately. Losing weight is really hard. To quote Coldplay, "Nobody said it was easy." This journey is full of ups and downs and twists and turns. It really is a long and bumpy ride.
On my journey I hit so many snags. Some days I felt so down I couldn't get out of bed. Other days I clung to food as my crutch to get me by. I didn't think I would ever see the end line. This was no help to me at all. By letting my negative thoughts win, I wasn't making any progress. I wanted so badly to look and feel healthy. I would go to my Weight Watchers meeting and listen to the message and do my best to stay on track. Some days it's harder than others. Some days you feel starved and you just slip in an extra snack. That is okay, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. This path we've taken isn't perfect, because nothing in life is. You will hit bumps, it's inevitable. What is important is that we keep on moving.
Losing weight isn't going to happen overnight, in a couple weeks, even a month. Losing weight takes time as do all good things. I started my journey in 2011 and here I am in 2015 still trying to perfect myself. I have lost 77 pounds but the journey isn't over. Losing weight takes patience. You need to stay focused on the goal and you will get there. If you stay confident and positive, and don't let the negativity take over you will make it there, I promise. As the saying goes, "Good things happen to those who wait." That is 110% true and I will firmly stand by it. There were hundreds of times I didn't think I could do it. I lost all faith. I couldn't hit that goal I so dreamed about. But I didn't give up, you don't have to let the negativity get to you. It isn't fair to you. You aren't going to lose the weight in a week, so don't get your hopes up. But you will lose it if you are patient. The journey is never-ending. Stay strong, stay humble and stay positive. Because you can accomplish anything you set your mind too.
