Meal Prep and Tracking- The Keys to a Positive Journey

Morning Everyone! It's Day 1 of Sarah back on track and I am here to share with you some of my tips for keeping myself in line.  Staying on track can be extremely difficult.  Someone from work brings in a bag of bagels, or that cake for somebody's birthday.  We all wanna dive in and indulge.  But these are things we have to learn to cope with. The best way to stay on track is to PLAN EVERYTHING.  Literally, write it down, memorize it, and stick to it.  Planning out your meals for the week is the key to having success.

Pick a day that works with your schedule.  Go to the supermarket and plan your meals. You can stick with the same meals or you can spice it up.  As long as you stay on track with your meal plan, whether it's Weight Watchers or another plan.  Go to the supermarket and don't get anything, I repeat ANYTHING that isn't part of the plan.  I always find myself wandering down the junk food isle and then have to kick myself in the ass and run away.  We all do it, but don't let yourself succumb to that bag of chips or cookies. Stock up on the good stuff, the meats and proteins, veggies and fruits.  Plan your meals ahead so you know exactly what to do and get in and out of there as quick as possible before the temptation settles in.

If you plan your week out you will have more success. Putting it down in words, on paper for you to see, will help keep you accountable and you will have less of a reason to slip up.  Because you have a goal that you set for yourself right in front of your eyes.  Remember how good it feels at the end of the day when you got through it, on plan with no slip ups.  It feels pretty damn boss.  Keep tracking, and if you have a slip up, record it.  And don't just pretend it never happened.  Stay accountable and own it and then move forward with your day.

Tracking and meal prep can seriously save you a lot of time and stress.  Having everything done for you will give you more time in the day to get the stuff done that you need to do.  You will find yourself with more free time to watch a movie or get outside and move around.  It might give you time to get that workout done you've been wanting to do.  Planning is the key to a successful journey.  Stick with it and I promise you will go far.
