Tips for going out!

Everyone loves a night out on the town.  Finally done work for the week, and you wanna have fun! Here are some tips for staying within the points and having a healthy evening! Don't give yourself a heart attack over it!

1. Pre-track before you go- Whenever I go to a restaurant, I find out the nutrition info first before I even order the food that way I know whether it will be in my points or not.  I usually try to find something that stays within, but I track everything before it goes into my mouth.

2.  Order skinny drinks- Most bars carry Skinny Girl products now.  Get a lighter version of a drink, for example a skinny girl screwdriver (vodka and OJ) is 3 PP per serving. Cranberry and vodka is also another good bet.  Stay away from brown liquors and yes, Beer.  They are what carry the most points.  If you really need a beer, track it before you go.  You can get the nutritional info easy.

3.  Ask for food modifications-  Some restaurants won't change the menu, even if you're really important, but most restaurants will.  Instead of getting those fries, ask for a side salad or even a baked potato.  There are usually tons of better options then the crappy stuff they wanna give you.

4. Dance a lot-  If you are going out dancing, stay on the dance floor!  Dancing burns so many calories and it's a great way to blow off steam and relieve stress.  Just like Zumba except you have to try not to look like a serious freak.  Even though I always do.  I don't care ;).

5.  Sip slowly-  Drink your drink slow.  This protects you from having about 30 and going way over your points.  I always try to drink a drink over the course of time I am out.  Take it slow, nobody wants to carry you out anyways.

6. Smile a lot-  As weird as this sounds, smiling burns calories.  Plus you don't wanna look like you're having a miserable time.  Be happy, you're out and about! It could be worse.

There are tons of things we can do to make our night out, a healthy one.  Even if you splurge a bit, stay accountable and it's not a big deal.  Make sure that you have fun, and stay safe!
